To “go into the wilderness” can mean different things to different people. “……Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth (the Tribulation). See, I have set before you an open door (portal), and no one can shut it for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name…. “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: “I know your works. ![]() End time believers at Philadelphia will escape from the Son of Perdition, in the same way that David escaped from being murdered by Saul.” There is a parallel being drawn here between the Church at Philadelphia and King David. It wasn’t until Saul threw the spear that David “slipped away.” Was Saul a really bad shot, or did David “split” and then “burst through” (a portal) into another dimension and out of Saul’s presence? This “portal” could be what is called in Revelation 3:7, 10, the “key of David.” I believe this term is used specifically this one time, to refer the reader back to 1 Samuel 19. Beginning with verse 7 (above) you can see that David was playing his harp while Saul held his spear in his hand. ![]() “To cleave” means to slice or cut (in two). “The Hebrew verb being translated as “to slip away” is patar (paw tar’) and means to cleave or burst through. ![]()
